Position Title: Public Works Construction Technician
Location: Stephenville

Under the  supervision of the Public Works Construction Supervisor, performs line locates, construction management duties, observes, reviews and witnesses construction work and quality assurance on public works projects and development projects related to general improvements in public right-of-ways to ensure project compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications.

Communicates with supervisor and meets with and discusses issues with contractors, developers, engineers, architects, employees, other divisions, utility companies, the public, outside agencies and property owners as needed to coordinate work activities, review work status, exchange information, or resolve  issues; recommends solutions and responds to questions, concerns, and/or complaints.

Takes photographs and creates a daily written history of projects to document field conditions and work progressions.  Maintains project logs and enters data into computer.  Reviews, completes and/or receives various forms, reports, correspondence, logs, site development plans, construction plans, field density reports, drawings, ordinances, regulations, standards, specifications, policies, procedures, publications, maps, manuals, reference materials, and/or other documentation; reviews, complete processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.  Reviews contractor pay applications.

Required Education:

High School Diploma or GED;

Supplemental by at least two(2) years progressively responsible experience and/or on-the-job, vocational, technical training in engineering plan review, construction site work observation including pavements and utilities as well as personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provided the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.  Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License with any  applicable endorsements.

Salary: $32,023 - $43,819 Annually
