Position Title: Water Treatment Plant Operators
Location: Ranger, Tx

Under the direct supervision of the ECWSD WTP Manager, The WTP operator is responsible for the safe operation of surface water production facilities. Operates, and maintains ECWSD production system equipment and facilities including pumps, motors, chemical feeders and related equipment. Responsible for completing the following duties: collection of samples, completing analysis, adjusting plant flows, monitoring plant conditions, adjusting chemical dosages, monitoring water quality and tank levels, performing routine lab analysis, calibrating and maintaining equipment, maintaining chlorine gas systems; preparing reports and records; conducting inventories and preventative maintenance. Required Skills:

Set priorities and make sound operational decisions. Complete regular plant inspections to detect and correct treatment problems in the plant.  Express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Interact with others in a positive and professional manner. Analyze information and date to identify and solve complex problems. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all levels with the organization. Organize information, materials and records, including plant process data and laboratory results. Perform a broad range of operations and maintenance responsibilities related to effective operation of a surface water treatment plant.  Implement operational improvements and monitor progress. Use computers and related software including word processing, spreadsheets, database management and email. Demonstrate proficient skills including treatment process operation, data recording and communication.

Required Education:

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a Class "C" surface water certification or be able to obtain a Class "C" within six months. A minimum of three years experience in surface water operation required. A valid Texas driver's license is required. Must live within thirty minutes travel response time. Must be able to respond to emergency situations as the need arises. Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
